what is muslim law?



Introduction :

Muslim law is the complete and magnificent code life. It is covered with all aspects of problems & it’s solutions of human life from birth to death. Muslim law prescribes all kinds of problems of all human beings i.e. Personal problems, public problems, national or international problems etc. This creates all legal rights and obligations to all citizens of the world.
In this respect The Quran says ,“ Today I have perfected your religion for you and completed my favour towards you and chosen Islam as your religion”
In a nutshell it can be said that Islamic law is a divine law sent by Allah for the welfare of human being through his messenger Prophet Mohammad (SM.), as a result it has been developing anarchy circumstances of the world.



 Who is muslim?


Any person who professes the Mohammadan religion and also acknowledges that;
1.      There is only one Allah,
2.      He is the creature of the world,
3.      Mohammad is his Prophet & Messenger,
4.      The Al-Quran is the Allah’s Scripture,
5.      And all other rules and regulations of Islam.
Such a person may be a Muslim by birth or by conversion. No ceremonies are required to convert into Muslim.
According to the point of court, “every person who believes in the unity of Allah and the mission of Mohammad as a Prophet is a Muslim to whatever sect he may belong”.
In short, every person who believes Allah as only one and believes in the unity of Allah and the mission of Mohammad as a Prophet is a Muslim to whatever sect he may belong.





There are many kinds of religions all over the world. Out of all these religion Islam is the only one religion in which people can live without any interference with one another. A muslim is one who believe in Allah & his messenger who came to the earth for the mankind of the world.
All other religion’s person will be excluded from applying muslim law. So the text directly indicates the muslim law will only be applicable to muslims.
Muslim law is applicable only to Musaalman. Muslim law is applicable to those who believe Islam, lead their lives according to Islam and abide by the rules of Islam. A non Muslim cannot claim for Muslim law because of religion and faith on it.
Those who do not believe in Islam and lead their life according Islam are not entitle to get help from Muslim law. In a nutshell, Muslim law is applicable to Musaalman only.





            No, Muslim law is not applicable to other religion followers because of the restriction of religion. Though Islam is universal, Muslim law is not applicable to others who are not Muslim. Islam is wider one but Muslim / Islamic law is narrower one. Muslim law is derived from Islam on the basis of the Quran, Sunnah, Ijmah, & Kiyas. Muslim law is applicable only to Musaalman on following subjects;
1.      Marriage;
2.      Dower;
3.      Dissolution of Marriage/Divorce;
4.      Maintenance;
5.      Waqf;
6.      Gift/Heba;
7.      Will/wasiyat; etc.
